No Nap, No Way

June's pretty picky about how and where she will fall asleep.  We're way past the stage in life where she falls asleep anywhere in public.  Seriously past this stage - last Sunday she sat through 3 church services at different facilities and the last one was past nap time and it was two hours long.  Didn't even think about closing those eyes.  Every once and a while she'll fall asleep in the car but even that is becoming quite the feat. No, she has to sleep in her bed.

But even that sometimes isn't enough to get her to fall asleep.  Like this afternoon.  We laid her down for her nap around 1, which is generally a pretty good time for nap.  She laid in her bed singing and talking for nearly two hours.   She kept saying she had to go to the bathroom and would run into the bathroom.  I didn't realize she couldn't pull down her skirt so she just kept going in the bathroom without actually peeing.  So around 2:30 she had an accident.  We changed her pants and I put her back down praying that she would actually sleep.  Nope.  At 3 I decided to give it up.  Any nap at that point is just going to mess with bedtime and we're not losing more sleep tonight.

Amazingly enough, she was not very whiny during the rest of the afternoon and evening.  We even managed to make this cute little bouquet of "flowers for Jan since she had a medical procedure earlier this week and was feeling under the weather.

Is it possible that my two and a half year old is giving up her nap.  Because I can't abide by that kind of behavior!  I need nap time still.  Hallie is nearly five and she still sleep at least an hour every day she comes to my house.  Why can't June follow in her footsteps?  Please, God, if anyone is going to give up their nap, please help it be me, not June.
