Ruben now has two teeth on the bottom jaw and his two top teeth are sitting just below the surface. He says Mama, Dada, and "Look" - which just consists of him pointing at something and saying "ta." Today we started noticing a lot more mimicking from him when it comes to speech. He said "no" for nova and a silent "p" sound for up. His week of sickness took him back to just one or two steps at a time. He's also more reluctant to try for some reason. He's back to nursing full time after getting down to 3-4 times a day plus one at night. Solid food isn't as interesting to him right now because he still has all sorts of gunk in his throat so whenever he eats he ends up gagging and throwing up something that gets caught in the snot sitting in his throat. Therefore, he's not really into eating food and is content to nurse as long as his nose allows him to breathe. Otherwise he nurses until he has to come up for air - he takes 3 long breaths and dives back in. Crazy boy.
June loves to dance. On Sunday she showed off her new move which is putting her hands on the floor and her feet up on the couch and doing a little plank. I'm pretty sure she figured out how to do this all on her own. She was so proud of her cool new move. She also loves to color with dad and spent nearly an hour and a half straight sitting with dad and coloring pictures to send to people in the mail.
She started Sunday School three weeks ago and loves it. She didn't have one ounce of hesitation when we showed up the first day. I waved and said bye and she could have cared less - friends and toys, it's a dream come true. One outcome from Sunday School is she's great friends with Adam Smith now. She had never looked at him before and always played with his older brother Kyle, but now Adam is awesome and they are best buds at Toddler Tales and Mom's Group. She also got two new molars on her left side top and bottom - I think that explains the fever last week.
That was the quick update of milestones in our house. Besides the incredible amount of time Ruben stays awake at night, life is great and wonderful and full of new discoveries.
