June, the helper

Lately, June has been becoming more independent which is awesome! It also makes for cute stories because there are many things that she would like to do but doesn't have the coordination or means to do them yet. For instance, last week we did a lot of rearranging in the house and decorating as well.  June caught this bug and put it to good use on her rocking chair.  She thought it would be nice to cover it with baby blankets so it would be more comfortable.  She took each and every one of the baby blankets in Ruben's room and unfolded each one and laid it carefully over her chair, making sure to cover the armrests and back of the chair. This activity took place in complete silence because I was nursing Ruben to sleep and June is now allowed to play quietly in his room while I do this.  Usually she manages to stay  quiet enough.  For nearly 30 minutes she unfolded blankets in complete silence and covered this chair.
After I pulled out the camera she did actually pose for this picture.  She wanted to make sure she was smiling and sitting in her beautiful chair.

The next story is Karl's from this morning.  The kids have been taking turns waking up early with Dad.  I think it is a really special time for both of them and I sure do enjoy the extra time to sleep. If both kids get up, I get up as well.  So June was up early with Dad and got to go on a walk with Nova, help give Nova her breakfast and then it was time for June and Dad to eat.  Karl pulled out the bowls and asked June which cereal she would like.  When he turned around to pour her selected cereal into the bowl, he heard from behind him, "What cereal you want, Dad?" There she was, poised at the pantry ready to help pick out Dad's cereal as well.  What a good helper!
